Short answerGuide

A professional business website costs R$1,000 to R$10,000 when it's simple and R$10,000 to over R$100,000 when it's complex, according to a Hostinger survey updated in June 2026. What drives the price is the number of pages, who produces the content, custom design or template, platform, SEO and GEO, integrations, and the costs that recur every month, like hosting and maintenance.

“How much does a website cost?” is the first question in almost every conversation I have with business owners. And it has the most frustrating answer: it depends. That's not a dodge. A five-page site built on a template and a site with custom design, copy written to sell and CRM integration are different products, even if both are called a “website.”

The honest way to answer is to show the market range and, above all, what pushes the price up or down. That way you understand why two quotes come in so far apart and can compare proposals by what they deliver.

What the market charges for a professional website

The ranges below come from two companies that sell website builders and hosting, so they have an interest in showing do-it-yourself as the cheap option. Even so, they're the most up-to-date public benchmarks in Portuguese.

According to Hostinger's guide updated on June 24, 2026:

  • Simple site built by a freelancer or agency: R$1,000 to R$10,000.
  • Complex project: R$10,000 to over R$100,000.
  • Do it yourself with a website builder: R$0 to R$500 to get started, plus R$10 to R$250 a month.

Wix's guide, with prices updated in late 2025, lands on a similar range: R$2,500 to over R$50,000 for a professionally built site, paid once.

The range is wide because “website” covers everything from a one-page intro to a portal with a client area. To see where your company fits, look at the items below.

The 8 items that change your website's price

1. Number of pages

Every new page needs structure, copy, images and a mobile version. A home page with contact info is one thing. Home, about, five service pages, case studies, blog and contact is another. Before asking for a quote, list the pages you need at launch and set aside the ones that can come later.

2. Who produces the content

It's the item that causes the most delays and most often sits outside the quote. If you hand over finished copy, photos and testimonials, the project costs less. If the vendor has to write, shoot or organize what's now scattered across PDFs and WhatsApp, that's work and it needs to be in the price. Always ask: who writes the copy?

3. Custom design or template

A template is cheaper and faster. Hostinger cites premium themes at R$150 to R$500 per license. The cost shows up later: your site looks like other companies' sites, and every tweak beyond what the theme allows takes work. Custom design costs more upfront, but it's built for your customer, your offer and mobile.

4. Platform

WordPress, builders like Wix and Framer, or custom code. Each one changes the upfront price, the monthly fee and how much you depend on plugins. The right question isn't which is best, but who will edit the site day to day and what it needs to do two years from now.

5. SEO and GEO

A website can go live just looking good, or go live ready to be found. SEO is heading structure, speed, data for Google. GEO is preparing the site to be cited in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Done from the start, it costs little. Done later, it's rework, and that's why so many companies only find out why their site doesn't show up on Google after launch. Confirm whether it's in scope or billed separately.

6. Integrations

A form that feeds the CRM, online booking, payments, chat, a catalog pulled from another system. Each integration is one more piece to build, test and maintain. This is where a simple website becomes a complex project, and the price follows. When the request is already a dashboard with login and business rules, the topic becomes how much a custom web system costs.

7. Domain and hosting

These are recurring costs. By Hostinger's benchmark, a domain costs R$50 to R$100 a year and shared hosting R$10 to R$75 a month. The amount is low, but it needs one precaution: the domain and hosting must be in your company's name, not the vendor's.

8. Maintenance

A website isn't a job that ends at delivery. There are security updates, copy that changes, new pages, forms that stop working. Hostinger cites contracted maintenance at R$250 to over R$1,500 a month. Wix estimates R$245 to R$820 a month for a company website. Factor that number in before comparing proposals.

How to compare two website quotes

When you get two proposals, the bottom-line number is the last thing to look at. First, check:

  • Which pages are included, one by one.
  • Who writes the copy and who supplies the images.
  • Whether the design is custom or a template.
  • Whether SEO and GEO are included or extras.
  • Which integrations are planned and which were left out.
  • Whose name the domain, hosting, code and files are in.
  • What happens after delivery: who maintains it, what it costs and what's included.
  • Whether the delivery date is written into the contract.

If a proposal doesn't answer these points, it isn't cheaper. It just pushed the bill to later.

How we do it at the Studio

We don't have a price table, and that's on purpose. The price is fixed after discovery, once we understand what the site needs to do for your company, which pages go in at launch and what can wait. The deadline is written into the contract.

The code, files and access stay in the client's name, including the domain and hosting. We use Figma and Claude Code for design and build, and the site is designed for mobile and to be found on Google and in AI answers. I've been a Product Designer for more than ten years, and the Studio has launched more than 600 projects since 2014.

If you're researching what your company's website costs, the shortest path is to bring the page list and the site's goal to a discovery session with us, in the Studio's professional website design service.

Common questions

Why do two quotes for the same website come in so different?

Because they're almost never the same website. One quote may include copy, custom design, SEO and CRM integration, and the other just setting up a template. Ask for the list of what's in and what's out of each proposal.

Will a ready-made template work for my company?

It works when the site just needs to exist and the budget is tight. When the site needs to bring in leads, stand out from competitors or grow with new pages, the template starts charging its price in tweaks and limitations.

What do I pay after the site goes live?

Domain, hosting and, almost always, maintenance. According to Hostinger, a domain runs R$50 to R$100 a year and shared hosting R$10 to R$75 a month. Contracted maintenance ranges from R$250 to over R$1,500 a month.
