The problem
Tracking spending felt like an accountant's job.
Essentials is a digital wallet for people who want to see where their money goes, no spreadsheets or tagging every expense.
Finance apps tend to dump charts on you. People open them, don't get it and never come back.

The main screens.
The solution
What we did
We designed an app that answers one question per screen: how much I have, what I spent on, where I can save.
Cards, categories and insights show up in large blocks, readable at a glance, in a dark theme with green for good signs.
Decisions
The 3 key decisions
What we decided before designing, and why.
One question per screen
Balance, spending and insights kept separate. No dashboard with everything at once.
Insights in sentences, not charts
“You spent 20% less on delivery this month” says more than a colorful pie chart.
Green only for good news
The accent color marks savings and goals hit. Everything else stays neutral and calm.
